Dubai 2007 Non-Oil Products Exports At AED 167.9 Billion, Up 43% From 2006
23 January 2008  The Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry released an extensive list of value of exports of non-oil products by its members for the year 2006 and 2007. Going by the figures that just trickled in, the authorities at the Chamber have all the reason to celebrate the big jump of 43% in the total value of exports that touched dirham 167.9 billion at the end of 2007 in direct comparison to its own figures of end 2006 which stood at AED 117.4 billion through exports by the august body’s over 100,000 members who make sure to break their own records in business acumen.

Sharjah trade mission promotes Hamriyah Free Zone
15 January 2008 Doha - A trade mission from Sharjah is in Qatar to introduce Qatari businessmen to the advantages of investing in the Hamriyah Free Zone in the UAE.
Rashid Obeid Jumaa Al Leem, Director-General of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, is leading the mission and met with Dr Khaled Klaifikh Al Hajri, Director-General of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) yesterday at the chamber's premises.

Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority International Signs MoU On Development Of Dh29.5 Billion Rakisa Economic City
 January 4, 2008 - Jafza International, the global free zone operations arm of Economic Zones World today signed an MoU with Saudi Arabia’s Rakisa Holding for the development and management of Rakisa Economic City in Hail, Saudi Arabia. The Rakisa Economic City, a SR 30 billion (about AED 29.5 billion) project, spread over 15,600 hectares, is envisaged to be the second largest economic zone in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, incorporating an international airport, dry port, railway station, agricultural industries and services, an entertainment area, mining centre, business centre, Knowledge Area, and residential complexes.
